WILMINGTON, N.C. (Ap) -T.J. Carter and Daniel Fountain scored 17 points each as UNC-Wilmington defeated Northeastern 77-69 Wednesday night and stretched the Seahawks’ winning streak to three games.
Vladimir Kuljanin scored 14 points and Todd Hendley added 11 for the Seahawks (12-8, 5-3 Colonial Athletic Association).
Matt Janning led all scorers with 21 points for the Huskies (7-11, 3-5 CAA), who lost for the third time in four games. Manny Adako, Vinny Lima and Baptiste Bataille scored 10 points each.
The Huskies, who trailed 35-25 at halftime, pulled within 48-44 with 9:45 remaining. But Carter scored 11 points in a span of 5 1/2 minutes.
The Seahawks, the top free-throw shooting team in the CAA, made 16-of-19 on Wednesday night.
