St. Peter's (3-7) jumped ahead 2-0 on a layup by Ismaila Traore in the game's first minute, but Monmouth's Yaniv Simpson answered with a 3-pointer, igniting a 7-0 run that gave the Hawks a lead they would never relinquish.
