Terriers race past Crusaders
Wofford cruised to a 112-66 home win Friday over North Greenville to improve to 6-4 overall and 5-1 at home. The Terriers led 64-31 at halftime on their way to the win. Isaiah Bigelow paced Wofford with 28 points off the bench on 9-of-11 shooting including 7-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-3 at the free throw line. He also accounted for five rebounds and two steals. Tray Hollowell tallied 17 points, two boards and two assists. Messiah Jones had 17 points, four caroms, four steals and two blocked shots as a reserve. Nathan Hoover recorded 14 points, four rebounds and two dimes. Chevez Goodwin registered 11 points and six boards. Donovan Theme-Love added 11 points, eight assists and two rebounds off the bench.
Tar Heels drop second straight
North Carolina fell by a score of 56-47 last Sunday at Virginia to drop to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Cole Anthony led the Tar Heels with 12 points on 4-of-15 shooting including 1-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-6 at the charity stripe. He also accumulated four rebounds and two assists. Armando Bacot added 11 points, two boards and two blocked shots. North Carolina trailed 24-18 at halftime and was unable to recover.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Terriers are 17-7 ATS in their last 24 Sunday games. Wofford is 1-4 ATS in its last five road games.
The Tar Heels are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a home favorite. North Carolina is 1-7 ATS in its last eight games overall.
This could be a get well game for UNC after a brutal schedule lately has seen it drop three of four. But none of the Tar Heels’ six wins have been by more than 16 points this season and the Terriers are much better than the two teams they did beat by 16. So I am more comfortable with taking the points on a Wofford squad that is playing with some confidence after dismantling four lesser opponents in a row.
