Cougars ease past Beavers
Washington State picked up an 89-76 home win Saturday versus Oregon State to improve to 12-7 overall and 3-3 in conference action. The Cougars outscored the Beavers 43-36 in the second half to pull away. Isaac Bonton paced WSU with 34 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 4-of-7 from 3-point range plus 14-of-14 at the free throw line. He also registered eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals. C.J. Elleby accounted for 22 points, nine boards and five assists. Noah Williams tallied 17 points and three dimes. Jeff Pollard added 10 points and three caroms.
Buffaloes hammered by Wildcats
Colorado lost by a count of 75-54 Saturday at Arizona to drop to 14-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play. McKinley Wright IV paced the Buffaloes with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also notched five assists and three rebounds. D’Shawn Schwartz added 12 points in 30 minutes of action. Colorado trailed 34-23 at halftime on their way to the defeat.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Washington State
The Cougars are 7-22-1 ATS in their last 30 road games. Washington State is 1-4 ATS in its last five Thursday games.
Colorado
The Buffaloes are 4-1 ATS in their last five Thursday games. Colorado is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games overall.
Prediction:
Colorado stunk up the joint at a strong Arizona squad over the weekend and while this is a good bounceback spot, the Cougars have been showing improved play lately. The Cougars stunned a ranked Oregon squad at home last week before the Oregon State win, so the question is whether they can translate that kind of performance to the road. I’m going to bank on the Buffaloes staying in a bit of a rut and WSU riding off its recent confidence boost to make this more of a game than expected.
