Virginia the best in College BB?
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The Kentucky Wildcats have been the top-ranked team all season, but now the Virginia Cavaliers are starting to take some of Kentucky’s spotlight.
In the latest USA Today Top 25 poll, Virginia received one first-place vote, keeping Kentucky from being a unanimous selection for another week. The Cavaliers are 17-0, just like Kentucky, and coming off wins over Clemson and Boston College last week to improve to 5-0 in the ACC.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Virginia currently has 9/1 odds to win the 2015 Final Four. The Cavaliers have the third-shortest odds, sitting behind Kentucky (10/13) and Duke (8/1).
Virginia is coming off an ACC Championship last season and a run to the Sweet 16. This season, the Cavaliers already own wins over the likes of Notre Dame, VCU, Maryland and Miami. UVA has a meeting with Duke set for Jan. 31 at home. The Cavaliers last reached the Final Four in 1984, but the program has never won the NCAA Tournament.
