Ducks race past Boise State
Oregon cruised to a 106-75 home win Saturday night over Boise State to improve to 2-0 on the young season. The Ducks led 48-30 at home en route to the win. Anthony Mathis paced Oregon with 30 points on 10-of-12 shooting including 9-of-11 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also pulled down two rebounds. Payton Pritchard accounted for 19 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals. Addison Patterson tallied 17 points and four boards off the bench. Shakur Julston registered 16 points, nine dimes and three caroms.
Wiseman on floor in win
Top recruit James Wiseman was on the floor under a temporary restraining order Friday night after the NCAA ruled him ineligible. Wiseman scored 17 points to go with nine rebounds and five blocked shots as Memphis improved to 2-0 by blasting Illinois-Chicago 92-46 in a campus game of the Barclays Center Classic. Boogie Ellis contributed a team-best 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting including 6-of-9 from 3-point range. He also tallied two assists and two steals. D.J. Jeffries accounted for 14 points, four boards and two steals off the bench. Tyler Harris had 11 points, three caroms and three assists as a reserve. Precious Achiuwa added 10 points and seven rebounds.
NCAA Basketball Betting Trends
Oregon
The Ducks are 8-0 ATS in their last eight neutral site games. Oregon is 5-1 ATS in its last six non-conference games.
Memphis
The Tigers are 5-0 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. Memphis is 5-1 ATS in its last six non-conference games.
Prediction:
As long as Wiseman is available, the Tigers have the ability to beat anyone. Of course, Memphis is risking a postseason ban by playing him but for now he is on the court. And if the NCAA had any sense about the situation, it would remain that way. I think Wiseman plays with a fire tonight against a very good opponent and Memphis covers this spread and perhaps wins outright. The Ducks sort of have a home-court advantage, but it’s still a neutral setting so it’s not exactly as good as a true home advantage. Going with Wiseman and the Tigers to put on a show tonight.
