Notre Dame vs. Florida State Prediction
No. 5 Florida State will look to win its 10th consecutive game when it hosts ACC foe Notre Dame at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday night. Will the Fighting Irish put up a fight or is there a better play when it comes to this matchup?

Notre Dame Player Spotlight
John Mooney had 21 points (8-17 FG, 5-7 FT), 13 rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block Wednesday against Syracuse. Mooney surprisingly didn’t take a 3-pointer for the first time all season against the Orange’s 2-3 zone, rather dominated on the interior in route to eight offensive boards. It’s his 12th straight double-double, and he’s as sure a bet as there is in fantasy circles. A Saturday against against Florida State presents a stiff test to that streak however.
Florida State Player Spotlight
Devin Vassell had 23 points (9-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks Saturday at Miami. It was the sophomore’s first career double-double. He’s emerged as the ‘Noles most reliable scoring threat, and has now scored at least 14 points in five straight while chipping in crooked numbers in most other categories. Vassell and FSU will enjoy the week off before taking on Notre Dame next Saturday.
NCAA College Basketball Betting Trends
The Fighting Irish are 6-13-1 against the spread in their last 20 games when facing an opponent with a winning percentage above .600.
The Seminoles are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight home games when facing an opponent with a losing road record.
I see the over as the best bet for this matchup. The over is 9-4 in the Seminoles’ last 13 games as a home favorite, is 36-16 in their last 52 home games versus an opponent with a losing road record and is 5-2 in their last seven games played on Saturday. On the other side, the over is 5-2 in the Fighting Irish’s last seven games coming off a loss and is 4-1 in their last five games following an ATS loss.
