Butler out again on Tuesday for UK
Lamont Butler (undisclosed) will miss Kentucky’s clash with Mississippi State on Tuesday night. Butler will now miss his third straight game. The starting point guard, who averages 13.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists, will get his next chance to play on Feb. 8 against South Carolina. It’s still unclear what’s ailing Butler at this juncture.
Murrell questionable to play against Kentucky
Matthew Murrell (undisclosed) is questionable to play against Kentucky on Tuesday. It’s unclear what the star guard is dealing with, but he’s in danger of missing his first game since Dec. 17. If Murrell can’t go, expect an uptick in minutes from Davon Barnes.

Take Kentucky. The Wildcats have won nine out of their last 10 games against the Rebels. That includes a three-game winning streak in which the Cats covered as 7-point and 8.5-point favorites. I know Kentucky is banged up but the Rebels aren’t in good form right now. They’ve lost three out of their last four games straight up – all conference matchups – and have dropped four straight at the betting window.
