Bulldogs ease past Titans
Gonzaga secured a 93-72 home win over Detroit Mercy Monday night to improve to 14-1 overall and 9-0 at home. The Bulldogs led 53-37 at halftime on their way to the win. Filip Petrusev led the Zags with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting plus 6-of-9 at the free throw line. He also accounted for six rebounds and two assists. Ryan Woolridge racked up 21 points, eight assists, six boards and two steals. Drew Timme had 13 points, seven caroms and three assists. Anton Watson added 11 points, three rebounds, three dimes, two steals and two blocked shots.
Pilots drop fourth straight
Portland lost by a score of 61-46 on Christmas Day against Ball State in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu. The Pilots (8-7) were outscored 42-27 in the second half of the defeat. Tahirou Diabite paced Portland with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting plus 2-of-3 at the charity stripe. College Basketball Betting Trends
Gonzaga
The Bulldogs are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS loss. The road team is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings.
Portland
The Pilots are 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. Portland is 2-9 ATS in its last 11 Thursday games.
Prediction:
The spread is huge and the Zags typically aren’t as dominant on the road, although they did blast Texas A&M by 30 earlier this season. This will be like a title game for the Pilots and they lost by 23 at home to Gonzaga last season, but look to be a better team in the 2019-20 season. That is not saying a whole lot, but I like the hosts to do enough to stay within the number.
