LOS ANGELES (AP) -Utah center Mehmet Okur missed his team’s playoff opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Coach Jerry Sloan confirmed before Sunday’s game that Okur wasn’t going to play because of a mild right hamstring strain. Okur didn’t play in Utah’s regular season finale Tuesday against the Lakers and missed practice all week.
Sloan said he wasn’t sure when Okur would play next. Jarron Collins started in Okur’s place.
C.J. Miles didn’t start for the Jazz, with Kyle Korver taking his place in the lineup. Miles has a dislocated left index finger, but Sloan didn’t rule out him seeing action despite missing several practices.
