MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -The Minnesota Timberwolves have waived veteran guard Antonio Daniels.
He was acquired from New Orleans in September in a cost-saving move. The Timberwolves gave permission to Daniels to seek a trade and did not play him in the preseason.
Since no deal could be completed, the young and rebuilding Wolves waived the 12-year veteran. Daniels is in the final year of his deal that will pay him $6.6 million this season.
The Wolves have a similar agreement with veteran center Mark Blount, who will be waived if no trade is completed before final rosters are due on Monday.
