MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Brandon Roy says he never considered retirement after his latest operation.
Roy was back at practice on a limited, non-contact basis with the Wolves on Thursday, almost one month after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Roy said he’ll be able to participate without restriction next week but there is no timeline for his return.
The former NBA Rookie of the Year and All-Star with Portland retired before last season because of chronic problems with his knees before reviving his career with Minnesota this summer. He banged knees with another player in an exhibition game in October and experienced discomfort in the weeks that followed. He had surgery on Nov. 19.
