MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Luke Ridnour didn’t sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves just to be a mentor to the younger players.
Team president David Kahn says Ridnour was brought in to challenge Jonny Flynn for the starting point guard spot.
Ridnour signed his four-year, $16 million contract on Wednesday. He says he is looking forward to helping Flynn learn the position, like he did with Brandon Jennings in Milwaukee last year. But he also wants to play and play a lot.
The Wolves now have three point guards on the roster, including Ramon Sessions. Kahn says one likely will be moved if all three are healthy. Flynn is dealing with a lingering hip injury that needs to be addressed.
