DENVER (AP) -Forward Al Harrington took a physical exam and met for an hour Tuesday with coach George Karl in his first visit to Denver since signing as a free agent with the Nuggets,
The Nuggets last week signed Harrington to a five-year contract worth about $26 million, contingent upon passing the physical.
Harrington will give the Nuggets frontcourt a boost, especially with Nene, Chris Andersen and Kenyon Martin all coming off injuries.
The 6-foot-9 Harrington averaged 17.7 points and 5.6 rebounds last season while with the New York Knicks. One of his best games was in Denver on Nov. 27, when he scored 41. But new teammate Carmelo Anthony had 50 in the Nuggets’ 128-125 win.
