BOSTON (AP) -It’s not that the Boston Celtics think their second-round matchup against Cleveland is a pushover.
But if they’re going to meet the NBA’s best team and perhaps its best player, they might as well do it now.
The Celtics are aging champions who won it all two years ago but have been stymied by injuries since. Everyone seems healthy now, so this might be the best time to play the Cavs.
Cleveland finished the regular season with the NBA’s best record. Meanwhile, forward LeBron James is nursing an elbow injury and it’s not clear how it will affect him.
The best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinals begin Saturday in Cleveland.
