OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -An MRI revealed that Golden State Warriors forward Brandan Wright has damage to the capsule in his left shoulder that will require surgery it was learned Sunday.
No timetable has been set for surgery on the third-year forward, who impressed coach Don Nelson in training camp and was expected to contribute regularly this season.
Wright, who turns 22 on Monday, suffered the injury during practice Friday.
Wright appeared in 39 games last year, including 23 starts. He averaged 8.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 17.6 minutes a game.
He missed 37 games last year with injury or pain to his left shoulder.
