MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Kevin Love is making up for lost time in a hurry.
After a disappointing, injury-filled season a year ago, Love has made a triumphant return to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is averaging 27.1 points and 14.2 rebounds to lead the Wolves to a 6-3 start. Love is averaging 5.1 assists as well. That’s more than double his career average.
It’s helped Love answer critics about his ability to make his teammates better. Love says improvements to the roster have helped him raise his game to another level.
Love says he knows he’s been viewed as a guy who is more concerned about getting his numbers than helping his team win. This season, he is doing both.
The Wolves next play at Denver on Friday.
