CLEVELAND (AP) -LeBron James has become the second player to win four conference player of the month awards in one season.
Cleveland’s All-Star forward was named the NBA Eastern Conference’s top player for April. He also won it in November, January and March this season, and now has 11 overall.
Kevin Garnett won the award four times with Minnesota in 2003-04, his MVP season.
James averaged 29.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.6 assists in seven games this month. He helped the Cavs finish 66-16 overall, 39-2 at home and earn the No. 1 overall playoff seed. Cleveland begins the playoffs against Detroit on Saturday.
Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki was the Western Conference’s top player.
