WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) -The Boston Celtics are back home to play the Orlando Magic, but that’s not necessarily a good thing.
The Celtics were one of only two NBA teams with a better record on the road than at home this season, and it’s no surprise Boston won the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals in Orlando. Now the Celtics need to improve their play at home to stay on pace for an early elimination of the Magic.
Game 3 of the best-of-seven series is Saturday night. With a win, the Celtics would have a chance to eliminate Orlando in Game 4 on Monday.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers says the team’s struggles at home were tied to its struggles in general. He notes that they played well early in the season before slumping in the second half – whether at home or on the road.
