ATLANTA (AP) -Miami point guard Jason Williams was held out of Wednesday night’s game against Atlanta due to a hyperextended left knee.
Williams had swelling in the knee after participating in the morning shootaround. He said he may have hurt the knee in Miami’s win over Minnesota on Monday.
Chris Quinn filled in for Williams with his fifth start of the season.
The Hawks also are thin at point guard. Speedy Claxton (knee) and Tyronn Lue (calf) were not in uniform and Acie Law (left ankle) was available only in an emergency.
Anthony Johnson, who played 45 minutes against Utah on Monday, again started at point guard for the Hawks.
