CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Atlanta Hawks leading scorer Joe Johnson will miss at least the next two games with a sprained right thumb.
Johnson didn’t travel with the Hawks, who play in Charlotte on Tuesday and Detroit on Wednesday. He sat out Saturday’s win over the Pistons after getting hurt last week against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Maurice Evans is expected to start against the Bobcats.
Charlotte is expected to have Stephen Jackson back after being sidelined with multiple injuries. Gerald Wallace, who had a shoulder injury, is also expected to play.
Bobcats coach Larry Brown didn’t know if center Theo Ratliff would return to face Atlanta. He’s been away from the team after the death of his grandmother. Brown said Tyson Chandler would start in his place.
