CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says Mario Chalmers will start Friday night against the Charlotte Bobcats.
However, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen will sit out because of injuries.
Chalmers, who has missed the last three games with a sprained ankle, did participate in the team’s Friday morning shoot-around.
The Heat can afford to rest most of their stars after locking up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
This will be the third straight game James and Wade have missed. James is battling tightness in his right hamstring, while Wade is nursing several minor injuries in his leg.
Allen is out after tweaking his right ankle when he fell over a cameraman during the fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s game against the Knicks.
