CLEVELAND (AP) -Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams was ejected Saturday night in the first quarter of a game against Philadelphia.
Williams and 76ers guard Andre Miller were assessed double technicals at the 6:27 mark. Williams drew an offensive foul from Miller, who tossed the ball on the Cleveland player while he was on the floor. Williams quickly walked toward Miller before being stopped by teammates.
On Cleveland’s ensuing possession, Miller fouled Williams as he drove to the basket, knocking him to the floor with 6:08 left. Williams said something when he got up and was ejected by referee Sean Corbin. It was unclear whether Williams was talking to Miller or Corbin.
Coach Mike Brown planned to play his starters into the second half. Williams, a key offseason acquisition from Milwaukee, will start at point guard and is expected to provide vital help for LeBron James.
