PHOENIX (AP) – A person with knowledge of the situation says the Phoenix Suns and guard Eric Bledsoe have made progress over the past few days on a new contract.
The person asked to remain anonymous because the talks were ongoing.
It is the first report of any movement in the talks between the team and Bledsoe, a restricted free agent.
The Suns reportedly had made an initial offer four years and $48 million, while Bledsoe wanted a maximum deal. But with no team signing Bledsoe to an offer sheet that the Suns would then have to match to retain him, the sides remained far apart until the past few days.
News that progress was being made in the talks first was reported by Yahoo! Sports.
