Raptors take Game 3
Toronto grinded out a physical win in Game 3 on Friday, 98-93. With the win, Toronto has gone up 2-1 in the series. The Raptors come into tonight 60-25 on the season, 27-15 on the road, 38-47 against the spread and 44-38-3 with the over.
The Raptors were not lighting the world on fire offensively in Game 3, but still played well enough to win. As a team they shot 39 of 87 from the field and 11 of 28 from the arc. Kawhi Leonard put up 16 points with 10 rebounds, but it was Pascal Siakam that was the star. He had 30 points on 13 of 20 shooting, as well as 11 rebounds and four assists. Kyle Lowry added 12 points with 10 assists and five rebounds.
Magic coming up short
Orlando has lost the last two games in the series, being held under 95 points in both of the losses. Orlando is now 43-42 on the season, 23-17 at home, 47-37-1 against the spread and 46-39 with the under.
The Magic just couldn’t find their shot in Game 3. They were 29 of 80 from the floor and 13 of 44 from the arc. The team did manage to go 22 of 23 from the line, but attempting 44 3-pointers can’t be a good game plan for them. Nikola Vucevic had 22 points with 14 rebounds and six assists while Terrence Ross came off the bench and had 24 points.
NBA Betting Trends
Toronto
The Raptors are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games on 1 day of rest.
Orlando
The Magic have covered the spread in four straight home games and in four straight following a loss.
Prediction:
Orlando just isn’t showing it has the offense to be able to compete in this series and they actually were fortunate that Toronto didn’t shoot better in Game 3. While the Magic deserve some credit for their defense, the Raptors have a lot of scoring options that are likely to heat up at different times. Leonard didn’t really have a strong Game 3 and the Raptors still won by five. Toronto can really drive in the dagger for the series tonight and I think they will continue to play well defensively while shooting a better percentage.
NBA Prediction: Toronto Raptors -5.5
