Suns vs. Warriors Predictions
Two teams heading in opposite directions when the Phoenix Suns visit the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
The Suns have won their last eight games and they’re almost at full strength while the Warriors have lost their last three games and they will be without Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Otto Porter Jr. in this game.
Phoenix has secured home court advantage throughout the playoffs while Golden State is in third place in the Western Conference, just 1.5 games ahead of Dallas. Here’s a complete breakdown, including betting odds and free NBA picks.
Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors
Wednesday, March 30, 2022 – 10:00 PM EDT at Chase Center
The Suns opened at -6.5 at Bet365 and this sportsbook set the total at 224.5 in their NBA odds board. FiveThirtyEight has the Suns as 2-point road favorites, projecting them to win 58 percent of the time. There’s a gap between the projections and the actual odds, should we take the home team and the points or hammer the total?
Can the Suns Be Stopped?
The Suns (61-14 SU, 42-33 ATS) have now won 10 of their last 11 games and they show no signs of slowing down now that Chris Paul is back. Devin Booker averaged 37.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 58.1 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range in his last three games and Deandre Ayton and Landry Shamet have also played at a high level.
Ayton is averaging 19.6 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 67.2 percent shooting in his last 10 games while Shamet has knocked down 53.3 percent of his 3-pointers en route to 13.6 points in his last five games.
The Warriors (48-28 SU, 36-36-4 ATS) managed to beat the Heat 118-104 in Miami on Wednesday but then they lost road games against the Hawks, Wizards and Grizzlies, allowing 122.3 points in those three setbacks.
Jordan Poole’s play has been the one bright spot as of late. Poole had 25 points and five assists on Monday’s 123-95 loss in Memphis and he’s averaging 26.2 points on 36.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc in his last five games. Can he keep this up and help the Warriors put up a fight against the Suns?
Prediction
How to bet this game? The Warriors have lost six of their last seven games and their defense has been a mess as of late, so I’m looking at the Over here, as the Suns can easily score at least 110 points in this game.
The Warriors will be without their three stars and a key rotation player like Porter, which doesn’t help our cause but Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins can help them put up points and contribute to this total and the Suns rank second in the league in offensive efficiency, averaging 113.4 points per 100 possessions and they’re ninth in the NBA with 101.8 possessions per per game.
