Magic should steamroll Suns on Friday
In what is very likely to be a massive blowout at Amway Center, the Magic will host the struggling Suns at 7:00PM ET.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Magic are 13-point home favorites over the Suns while the over/under currently sits at 215 points. According to our NBA Odds page, Orlando opened as a 12.5-point favorite before the number jumped a half point, while the total opened at 217.5 before dropping a full 2.5 points.
The Suns will be playing on back-to-back nights after losing 108-92 to the Heat on Thursday. Phoenix was in the game before folding late and Devin Booker kept the team in the game with a career-high 34 points. But he was slumping before last night and Alex Len, who coach Earl Watson wants to feed, is missing too many shots. Settling on a guard rotation has also been an issue for the Suns, who have lost nine of their last 10 games.
Bettors favoring the Magic to cover the spread vs. the Suns
As for the Magic, Elfrid Payton tied his season high with 12 assists in a victory over the Bulls on Wednesday while Mario Hezonja had a career-high 21 points while hitting 9-of-17 shots with three 3-pointers, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, one blocked shot and no turnovers in 37 minutes. Orlando is also 5-2 against the spread in its last five home games.
Phoenix is a dreadful 5-22 against the spread in its last 27 road games and have failed to cover the number in five its last six games when playing on back-to-back nights. They’re also 4-11 against the spread in their last 15 games versus the Magic and 2-5 in their last seven trips to Orlando.
