Rockets vs. Hawks Public Betting: Bettors Leaning Towards Houston
Our NBA Public Betting Information page indicates that 56% of public bettors are currently backing the Rockets when it comes to the spread. This information is subject to change throughout the day, however, so be sure to check the link so you’re receiving the most up-to-date public betting data.
Brooks leads Houston in win vs. Boston
Dillon Brooks led Houston with 36 points (13-of-23 FGs), three rebounds, one steal and 10 triples in a 114-112 win over Boston on Monday. Brooks got off to a hot start in this game and didn’t slow down after that. He had 12 points and four 3-pointers in the first quarter and ended up setting a new career-high for 3-pointers in a game and had his highest-scoring game as a Rocket. His 10 triples ended up tying the franchise record for threes in a game as well. This was an incredible performance from Brooks, and it isn’t something that managers should get accustomed to. He’ll continue to be a reliable defender for them, but this type of offensive performance won’t happen often
Hunter’s strong night not enough vs. Minnesota
De’Andre Hunter led the Hawks with 35 points (12-of-21 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), two rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers in a 100-92 loss to Minnesota on Monday. After missing their last game with an illness, Hunter was back in the lineup for this one. The reinforcements were much-needed for the Hawks, as they were without Trae Young, Jalen Johnson and Dyson Daniels. That allowed Hunter to set a new career-high for scoring, which was a great thing to see after he scored a total of 18 points over their last two games. Hunter still doesn’t make much of an impact across the board in 9-cat leagues, but he has provided plenty of points this season. This was the first leg of a back-to-back, and if Atlanta remains shorthanded on Tuesday, Hunter could provide an encore.
Rockets vs. Hawks NBA Prediction:
It’s a risk seeing as how Houston is 8-2 over its last 10 games and 7-2-1 against the number over that same span. However, I see this as a good spot to back the home dog. The Rockets have won three straight games. Two of those wins came against the Cavs in a home-and-home series and the other was versus Boston last night. All three wins were upsets. Now the Rockets travel to Atlanta to take on a slightly below average Hawks team as a 7-point road favorite. This has letdown written all over it.
The Hawks have also had success in previous matchups with Houston. In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the Hawks are 6-4 straight up and 7-3 against the spread. They won both their meetings versus the Rockets last season, cashing once as a home favorite and the other as a road underdog.
