Raptors vs. Celtics Pick
Are the host Boston Celtics going to run their win streak to 12 games today when they play the Toronto Raptors at 3:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Celtics are listed as a 1.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 205.5 points.
Toronto enters with a 7-4 record following a 122-118 home win over the Pelicans. Boston is 11-2 after its 11th consecutive victory, a 90-87 home win over the Hornets. The Raptors won three out of four meetings straight up last season and covered the spread all four times. The under went 3-1.
In Toronto’s win over New Orleans, DeMar DeRozan led the way with 33 points and eight assists. Serge Ibaka contributed 19 points and eight rebounds. Kyle Lowry added 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds. The Raptors outscored the Pelicans 30-26 in the fourth quarter.
Jayson Tatum scored 16 points in the win over the Hornets. Shane Larkin also put in 16 points off the bench. Jaylen Brown added 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Celtics outscored Charlotte 26-11 in the fourth quarter.
The Raptors are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings.
Boston keeps on rolling and the spreads are getting smaller. Charlotte covered its 3.5-point underdog spread despite a terrible fourth quarter and Toronto seems to be in a good spot to win straight up, especially with point guard Kyrie Irving perhaps missing the game with a facial fracture suffered against the Hornets. Toronto is always respected as one of the tougher teams in the Eastern Conference and this is a good spot for it to put an end to this lengthy win streak by the Celtics.
