Blazers force Game 7
After a shaky showing in Denver for Game 5, Portland bounced back in Game 6 at home with a 119-108 to force today’s Game 7 on the road. The Blazers are now 60-33 on the season, 23-23 on the road, 50-42-1 against the spread and 50-41-2 with the over.
The Blazers knocked down 15 of their 33 3-point attempts in Game 6 while shooting 41 of 89 from the field overall. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum were a dominant pair, combining for 62 points on 23 field goals. Rodney Hood was also key, putting up 24 points off the bench on 8 of 12 shooting.
Nuggets roughed up on the road
Denver was unable to close out the series in Portland on Thursday night, suffering its worst loss of the series, 119-108. The loss snapped a three-game cover streak for the Nuggets. Denver is now 61-34 on the season, 39-9 at home, 49-46 against the spread and 51-43-1 with the under.
Denver struggled a little bit on offense in Game 6 on the road. While they shot 38 percent from the arc, they were just 33 of 86 from the field. Nikola Jokic did his usual job of putting up 29 points with 12 rebounds and eight assists, while Jamal Murray had 24 points and 10 rebounds as his strong series continued. The Denver bench was somewhat quiet, finishing with just 13 points on 4 of 18 shooting.
NBA Betting Trends
Portland
The Blazers have failed to cover in five straight following a win and are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games.
Denver
Denver is 4-1 ATS in its last five following a failed cover and 8-3 ATS in its last 11 on two days of rest.
Prediction:
Lillard is a great player, but he can’t win this game by himself and McCollum hasn’t been consistent on the road. Portland, as a whole, hasn’t been consistent on the road. Denver has much better depth from its starting lineup in terms of scoring and production and that will be a key aspect today. Lillard just doesn’t have the support Jokic does. Denver also has been much strong from the line than Portland in the majority of the series and every point has been crucial in this series. There’s just too many things that seem to be going Denver’s way at home for me to take a chance on Portland on the road.
NBA Prediction: Denver Nuggets -5.5
