Zion Williamson had a strong showing vs. the Hornets on Friday in a losing effort, scoring 26 points on 12-of-22 shooting with eight rebounds, three assists and three turnovers in 34 minutes. He’s just incredible to watch. There was a sequence in the second quarter when Zion missed a layup, but outmuscled several Hornets for two offensive boards (link below). He may not live up to his ADP until the defensive stats show up consistently, but for fantasy managers punting FT% and turnovers he’s flirting with top-50 9-cat numbers of 21.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals on 55.7% from the field.
Los Angeles Clippers DFS Spin
Kawhi Leonard appeared to hurt his left leg late in Sunday’s game, but continued playing to score a season-high 35 points on 14-of-22 shooting, with seven 3-pointers, two rebounds and three steals. Kawhi went down grimacing and grabbed his left leg/knee after a bucket late in the fourth quarter, but quickly got up and didn’t even leave the game. Clips coach Ty Lue said afterward that Leonard “seemed to be fine,” and Kawhi said he plans to play on Wednesday, so we’ll leave him off the injury report for now. It won’t be surprising if we hear about a minor ailment prior to Wednesday’s game vs. the Pelicans, but for now managers can revel in the elite production. He added four assists for good measure on Sunday, with two turnovers and zero personal fouls in 38 minutes of action.
Pelicans vs. Clippers Betting Prediction
The Pelicans are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, are 3-9 against the number in their last 12 games overall and are 2-9 at the betting window in their last 11 games playing on one day of rest. The Clippers, meanwhile, are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games played on Wednesday and have covered in four of their last five games playing on two days of rest.
