Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Magic are 1.5-point favorites to beat the Hawks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 224 points and as of this writing, 60% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Magic to cover the point spread.
Orlando Magic Fantasy Spin
Jonathan Isaac made 7-of-12 from the field for a team-high 17 points during a 103-83 win in Milwaukee on Saturday, adding six rebounds, two blocks and three 3-pointers. It might be starting to click for the second-year forward. In his last 10 games, Isaac averaged 11.3 points, 7.8 boards, 1.4 dimes, 1.2 steals, 2.0 blocks and 1.1 treys on a 45/27/94 shooting line in his 28.9 minutes per game. A cherry on top is he only has 1.7 fouls per game in that span and he’s just playing more sound defense overall while keeping his blocks up. He has been a top-30 player per game over this 10-game stretch and his patient fantasy owners are being handsomely rewarded.
Atlanta Hawks Fantasy Spin
Trae Young bounced back during a 119-101 loss to the Raptors on Thursday, scoring 19 points with five rebounds, five assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes. He struggled in the last game with a 2-of-13 shooting line, but Young going for an NBA rookie record of 23-plus points and eight-plus dimes in five straight more than offsets that dud. He continues to get in the paint more and he’s been at a very respectable 45 FG% in 2019. Young should be a solid fantasy asset going forward.
NBA Betting Trends
Orlando
The Magic are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous contest.
Atlanta
The Hawks are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games versus a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
Prediction
The Hawks have struggled to cover the spread when playing the second game of a back-to-back, posting a 1-7 record against the number in their last eight games coming off zero rest. They’re also 0-4 against the spread in their last four home games and covered just seven times in their last 26 home games versus an opponent with a losing road record. On the other side, the Magic are 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games overall and have covered in four of their last five road games, including their big upset on Saturday night in Milwaukee.
Sunday NBA Prediction: Orlando Magic -1.5
