Westbrook one rebound shy of triple-double
Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook tallied 23 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds Friday night in a 124-109 home victory over the Hawks. Oklahoma City led 28-26 after one quarter and then extended it to 66-46 by halftime with a big second quarter. Westbrook shot 8-of-15 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the win. Alex Abrines recorded 21 points and two rebounds. Paul George had 20 points, five boards, three assists and two steals. Denis Schroder contributed 18 points, eight assists, three rebounds and two steals off the bench. Nerlens Noel had 14 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots in 16 minutes off the bench. Patrick Patterson added 13 points, three assists and three steals as a reserve.
Pistons down Warriors for fifth straight win
The Pistons secured a 111-102 home victory Saturday night over defending NBA champion Golden State. Detroit (13-7) led 54-46 at halftime and held off the Warriors after the break. Blake Griffin registered 26 points on 9-of-22 shooting with six rebounds and five assists to lead the way. Stanley Johnson had 19 points seven boards and two assists off the bench. Reggie Jackson contributed 17 points, five dimes and two boards. Andre Drummond accounted for 16 points, 19 rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots. Ish Smith had 11 points and two assists. Reggie Bullock added 10 points, three assists, two caroms and two steals.

Prediction:
Detroit has had good success at home against OKC and have played fantastic basketball overall lately, getting wins against Toronto and Golden State along the way. I don’t know if now is a good time to fade the Pistons as a home dog. While the Thunder provides a tough matchup with Westbrook and George, I still like the home team here.
