Nets vs. Grizzlies Predictions
The surging Brooklyn Nets clash with the Memphis Grizzlies in what promises to be a very exciting game on Wednesday night.
The Nets are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings, three games behind the Cavaliers for sixth place, which would give them direct access to the playoffs while the Grizzlies are in second place in the West, 1.5 games ahead of the Warriors. Here’s a complete breakdown, including betting odds and free NBA picks.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Wednesday, March 23, 2022 – 07:30 PM EDT at FedEx Forum
As I write this, sportsbooks haven’t set the lines in their NBA odds board. FiveThirtyEight has the Grizzlies as 4.5-point home favorites, projecting them to win 68 percent of the time. Should we back the home team laying points or hammer the total?
KD and Kyrie Face a Tough Test
The Nets (38-34 SU, 30-40-2 ATS) are a devastating team on offense when they’re at full strength but they’re vulnerable when they’re not, particularly at home when Kyrie Irving (plus-4.2 Box Plus/Minus) can’t play. This was evident on Wednesday’s 113-111 last-second home loss against the Mavericks.
Having said that, Kevin Durant (plus-7.1 Box Plus/Minus) is back and they’ve won six of their last seven games. The Nets can compete with anyone as long as KD is playing and as mentioned before, they’re formidable when he’s paired with Kyrie and when role players like Bruce Brown step up. Brown is the X-factor on Wednesday, he had 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists on Monday’s 114-106 home win against the Jazz and the Nets are pretty tough to beat when he plays like this.
Ja Morant missed Sunday’s 122-98 road win against the Rockets because of a knee injury and he’s day-to-day ahead of Wednesday’s battle with the Nets. The Grizzlies (49-23 SU, 46-26 ATS) have a deep, talented, well-coached roster, they’re 14-3 without Morant this season and they just got Dillon Brooks back. Brooks is averaging 14.0 points in 25.3 minutes over four games since coming back from a left ankle sprain.
Prediction
I like the Over on Wednesday, even if Ja Morant (plus-6.0 Box PlusMinus) can’t play. These teams rank 5th and 9th in points scored per game, the Grizzlies lead the league in pace, averaging 102.8 possessions per game while the Nets rank 12th with 100.7 possessions per game despite being without KD and Kyrie for long periods of time.
Also, both teams are in the top 11 in Offensive Efficiency with over 110.6 points per 100 possessions. Enjoy the game and find more NBA picks here.
