Brooklyn Nets DFS Spin
Kevin Durant flirted with a triple-double in Wednesday’s double-overtime loss to the Cavs, tallying 38 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, three triples, one steal, four blocks and two turnovers in 50 minutes. KD got his points efficiently, going 12-of-25 from the floor and 11-of-13 from the charity stripe, and this was his third straight game with at least 30 points. Durant was a top-3 stud in two of his three seasons while playing on the superteam in Golden State, with his lowest overall ranking being No. 8, so we’re not worried about him maintaining his status as a fantasy monster on his new superteam in Brooklyn. However, with how many minutes he played tonight, fantasy managers may want to be on the lookout for a potential rest day for Friday’s rematch, with that game being the first of a back-to-back.
Cleveland Cavs DFS Spin
Jarrett Allen double-doubled in his Cleveland debut on Wednesday, producing 12 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal, four blocks and one turnover through 31 minutes in a double-overtime win over the Nets. Revenge game!? JA played some phenomenal defense against his former team, with a key block on James Harden in OT, and not only did he replace Andre Drummond for the crunch time minutes in regulation — he did not leave the floor once for either overtime period. It looks like he’s going to be in a timeshare situation with Drummond, which will limit his upside, but he’s capable of providing solid value even in a 25-minute reserve role. JaVale McGee finished this game with a DNP-CD, and he looks like a big loser from the Allen addition.
Nets vs. Cavs Betting Prediction
Despite losing outright as a large road favorite on Wednesday night, the Nets are still 25-10 at the betting window in their last 35 meetings with the Cavs in Cleveland. The Nets are also 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 road games versus a team with a winning home record and are 7-2 against the number in their last nine games coming off a loss of more than 10 points. On the other side, the Cavs are winless against the spread in their last four games playing on one day of rest.
