Warriors vs. Cavaliers Pick
Are the Golden State Warriors going to win for the second time this season against the host Cleveland Cavaliers tonight when the two squads meet at 8PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Golden State. The Warriors are a 6-point favorite on the spread line, while the total is set at 234 points. Golden State opened as a 4.5-point fave, while the over-under has shot up after opening at 229.
Who the Public Likes: Golden State. As of Monday afternoon, 65 percent of public bets have sided with the visiting Warriors.
Injury Report: Golden State forward Omri Casspi has missed the last two games with a back issue, but is probable to return tonight. Andre Iguodala has a hip flexor strain, but is listed as probable. Shaun Livingston has a shin contusion, but is expected to play. For the Cavaliers, point guard Derrick Rose is out indefinitely as he recovers from a sprained ankle and a bone spur. Iman Shumpert is targeting a late January return from arthroscopic knee surgery.
Who the Trends Like: Golden State is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings. The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Cleveland.
Who We Like: The Warriors are dominant and scary, especially when completely healthy. It appears as though Golden State is back at full strength as long as the three reserves on the injury report are active. Even if they aren’t, the Warriors don’t lack their star power. On Christmas Day, they bottled up LeBron James and came away with a 99-92 victory at the Oracle. This game should be far more free-flowing and I expect LeBron to have a big outing, but remember that Steph Curry did not play in the last meeting. He is back now and I believe Golden State will ease to a victory in what should be a high-scoring and entertaining affair.
