Rockets vs. Heat Prediction
The Rockets are laying a decent amount of points tonight to the Heat at 7:30PM ET. Will Houston cover?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rockets are now 7.5-point road favorites versus the Heat while the over/under currently sits at 220 points. Miami opened as a 9.5-point home underdog before the number was bet down, while the over/under hit the board at 221 before dropping to 220.
James Harden posted another triple-double on Sunday, which was his 12th of the season. He scored 22 points, with 11 rebounds, 11 assists, four 3-pointers, one steal and one blocked shot in the Rockets’ win over the Nets. Eric Gordon also lit up the Nets, scoring a game-high 24 points while making 9-of-14 shots with four 3-pointers in 28 minutes of action.
Luke Babbitt scored a season-high 16 points with four 3-poinetrs, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 32 minutes against the Bucks on Friday. Tyler Johnson also chipped in 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting in the loss, while James Johnson double-doubled with 10 points and 12 assists, which were a career-high.
OUR PREDICTION: The spread feels high but the Heat are banged up and struggling, covering in just one of their last five home games. They’re also 0-6 against the spread in their last six games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and are 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven games overall. The Rockets, meanwhile, are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games against the Heat, are 17-5 against the number in their last 22 road games and are 9-2 at the betting window in their last 11 road games versus a team with a losing home record.
