Thursday NBA Playoffs Odds
(The Spread) – Plenty of offensive firepower set the tone two nights ago as we now get set for Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made the host Mavericks a 5.5-point favorite for tonight’s Game 2, while the over-under is set at 199.5. Game time is set for 9:00PM EST and will air on ESPN.
One of the greatest individual performances in NBA Playoffs history transpired in Game 1 as Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki poured in 48 points in the 121-112 Mavs victory. He shot an astounding 12-of-15 from the floor and 24-of-24 at the charity stripe. That outshined an impressive showing from Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, who scored 40 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor and 18-of-19 at the free throw line.
While those two superstars lived up to their billing and then some, the Thunder could not overcome a poor game from lightning-quick point guard Russell Westbrook as he shot just 3-of-15 on his field goal attempts. He did go 14-of-18 on his free throws to finish with 20 points.
According to the latest NBA trends, Oklahoma City is 7-4 against the spread versus Dallas over the last three seasons, while Dallas is 7-4 straight up against Oklahoma City in those games. Six of 11 games in this series have gone over the total during the last three seasons.
Of the more than 3,300 wagers placed on tonight’s Game 2, 53% of the betting public has their money on the Mavericks -5.5. But that information is subject to change the closer we get to tip off, so make sure you click on the link provided to check out the latest NBA public betting information.
