Thursday’s NBA Opening Odds
(The Spread) – While college basketball is taking center stage Thursday, there is still NBA basketball to be played with three games on the day’s schedule.
One game was lined overnight and that is a battle between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the host Portland Trail Blazers, which will begin at 10:00PM EST.Cleveland is 13-53 overall and 5-28 on the road, while Portland is 38-29 overall and 22-10 on its home floor.
Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Portland 14.5-point favorites, while the over-under is set at 195. According to the latest trends, Cleveland is 25-37 against the spread and Portland is 32-30 ATS. The Cavaliers are 38-26 ATS with over-unders and the Trail Blazers 33-33 ATS on over-unders.
Cleveland is 3-7 in its last 10 games, but ended a four-game losing streak Wednesday by winning 97-93 at Sacramento. Portland is 6-4 in its last 10 and is coming off a 104-101 home win over the Dallas Mavericks.
LaMarcus Aldridge leads the Trail Blazers into action with averages of 22.4 points per game and 8.7 rebounds, while teammate Wesley Matthews puts in 16.3 ppg. Antawn Jamison scores 18 points per game for the Cavaliers and Baron Davis has also scored 18 per game in his first three contests after being acquired via trade from the Los Angeles Clippers.
