Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Clippers are 4.5-point favorites to beat the Suns. The total, meanwhile, sits at 233.5 points and as of this writing, 71% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Clippers to cover the point spread.
Los Angeles Clippers Fantasy Spin
Lou Williams hit 8-of-19 shots, 1-of-8 3-pointers and just 5-of-9 free throws for 22 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals in Tuesday’s loss to the Sixers. Williams has been on a tear since returning from a hamstring injury on December 20, and is averaging 24.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.9 3-pointers on 48 percent shooting over his last five games. He didn’t shoot it well from anywhere tonight, but put up solid fantasy digits against his former team. The rise of Sweet Lou has hurt Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and will continue to do so until further notice.
Phoenix Suns Fantasy Spin
Deandre Ayton made 8-of-12 field goals to score 18 points on Wednesday, adding 11 rebounds (seven offensive) with two assists and two steals in 33 minutes. Ayton’s ascent has been rapid and fantastic for fantasy owners — in the Suns’ previous six games he averaged 22.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.3 assists, while making 67.0% of his 15.2 shot attempts per game. He’s also strong from the FT line, unlike many centers, and he’s been an elite fantasy asset since the start of December. The Suns are turning him loose as option 1b alongside Devin Booker, and there’s no reason to think that will end.
