Clippers heating up
After suffering a four-game losing streak, the Clippers have won back-to-back home games over the Mavericks and Nuggets. That includes a 132-111 win over Denver last night. Los Angeles is 19-13 overall, 8-9 on the road, 18-14 against the spread and 20-12 with the over.
The Clippers are putting up some good offensive numbers, averaging 115.2 points per game while shooting 37.4 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Clippers are giving up 114.2 points per contest. Lou Williams returning to the team has been a big boost. He is averaging 17.1 points per game this season. Tobias Harris is leading the way with 21.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while Danilo Gallinari is adding 19.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
Warriors struggling to cover
After a shaky start to the season, the Warriors have won seven of their last nine games, including a 120-116 win over Dallas last night. However, the Warriors are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six. Golden State is 22-11 on the season, 14-3 at home, 14-19 against the spread and 17-16 with the over.
Golden State is putting up 115.6 points per game this season but the Warriors are the top-shooting team in the league. They lead the NBA in field goal percentage (48.5), free-throw percentage (83.0) and are second in 3-point percentage (38.5). Defensively, the Warriors allow 110.6 points per game despite limiting opponents to just 32.9 percent shooting from the arc.
NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Clippers are 16-5 against the spread in their last 21 against Pacific Division opponents and 5-2 ATS in their last seven when playing on no rest.
Golden State
The Warriors are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 against Western Conference opponents.
Prediction:
The Warriors haven’t been great at covering this year and now have to give 10 points to a Clippers team that is able to compete with them in terms of scoring. Lou Williams missed four games and the Clips lost all four. Since he has come back, Los Angeles has won both games and he was able to score 26 against the Mavericks. His return gives them another scoring option that should help them compete with this Golden State team tonight.
NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers +10
