Russell Westbrook hit 3-of-12 shots and one 3-pointer for nine points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists, a steal and four turnovers in Wednesday’s LeBron-less win over the Blazers. It takes a special player to shoot 3-of-12 and still put up a fun stat line and that’s exactly who Westbrook is. He’d been shooting it A LOT better over the past couple weeks but got his February off to a dismal start, at least from a shooting perspective. As long as LeBron James is out with his knee injury, Westbrook is going to put up big numbers, whether he shoots it well or not.
Los Angeles Clippers DFS Notes
Luke Kennard played just 16 minutes of Monday’s loss to the Pacers and posted two points, two assists and a rebound while shooting 1-of-7 from the field and 0-of-5 from deep. This was an absolutely puzzling display tonight, as Kennard logged an obscenely low minutes total for the shorthanded Clippers. Over his last seven games, Kennard averaged 15.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 3.1 triples across 28 minutes a game. The hero of LA’s miraculous comeback against Washington just a week ago, it appears Kennard was sent to the doghouse. Fortunately for Kennard, he’ll have a long car ride with family to ruminate on this one as he heads out to Ohio to have his jersey retired at Franklin High School on Tuesday.
