Pacers heating up
Indiana has won three of its last four games following a 101-95 victory at home over Philadelphia on Monday. The Pacers are 25-15 on the season, 9-10 on the road, 22-17-1 against the spread and 20-19-1 with the over.
The Pacers have one of the top defenses in the league this season. They are allowing just 106.3 points per game while opponents shoot just 44.4 percent against them. Offensively, Indiana is putting up 109.4 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the field. Domantas Sabonis is questionable to play tonight due to a knee injury, but he did play on Monday after missing some time. He averages 17.8 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Malcolm Brogdon recently returned from injury as well. He is averaging 17.8 points and 7.5 assists per contest.
T’Wolves fall at home
Minnesota is coming off a 117-104 loss at home to Oklahoma City on Monday for a third loss in four games. The Timberwolves are 15-24 on the season, 6-12 at home, 16-21-2 against the spread and 21-18 with the over.
The Timberwolves are giving up 114.8 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 45.7 percent from the field. Offensively, Minnesota is putting up 111.6 points per game while shooting just 43.2 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from the arc. Minnesota could be without Karl-Anthony Towns again tonight as he continues to recover from his knee injury. He hasn’t played since Dec. 13. Andrew Wiggins is leading the team with 23.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Jeff Teague is adding 13.3 points and 6.2 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Indiana
The Pacers are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games as a favorite and 5-1 ATS in their last six Wednesday games.
Minnesota
The Timberwolves are 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 games playing on 1 day of rest and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games.
Prediction:
These two haven’t met this season, but Indiana has done a pretty good job defensively against the Timberwolves over the year, it has just been a matter of Indiana finding enough offense to win. I think they will have it tonight against a poor Minnesota defense that could be without its big body in the paint. Sabonis is having a really solid year and Brogdon has done a good job of facilitating offense. Indiana has the defense to slow down Minnesota and the Timberwolves don’t have the motivation to show that same effort, even at home.
NBA Prediction: Indiana Pacers -2.5
