Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes
Ja Morant was sensational on Sunday evening as he put up 40 points on 13-of-21 shooting (5-of-7 3-pointers) with 10 assists, three rebounds, three steals, and six turnovers, but it wasn’t enough because the Grizzlies fell 121-118 to the Lakers. Morant was absolutely incredible on Sunday night, but he did miss the biggest free-throw of the game after he was fouled on a three-point attempt by Kent Bazemore and made the first two free throws. Back in May, Ja said that he felt that he was one of the top-five point guards in the NBA and he is certainly playing like it that season. Through three games, Morant is averaging 35 points per game on 57.9% shooting from the floor with eight assists. It will be hard to make the all-star game in the western conference, but Ja is certainly making a strong case in the early going.
Portland Trail Blazers DFS Notes
Damian Lillard hit just 4-of-15 shots and missed all eight of his 3-pointers for 12 points, three rebounds, three assists and four turnovers in Monday’s ugly 116-86 loss to the Clippers. The Blazers fell to 1-2 on the season and the Clippers got their first win, while Lillard is now just 2-of-24 from downtown on the season. He’s also just 18-of-50 from the floor on the season, good for 36 percent. Something’s got to give here and we’re guessing Lillard will bounce back with a better showing against the Grizzlies on Wednesday and then in Portland to face the Clippers again on Friday. This might be the ultimate acquire-low moment on Lillard in fantasy.
