Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes
Ja Morant continued his unfair play in a 115-95 win over the Wizards on Saturday, scoring a game-high 34 points while adding three rebounds, two assists, one steal, four 3-pointers and just one turnover in 34 minutes. Seriously, if you’re not hailing King Ja at this point, we’re really wondering why. Morant has scored at least 30 points in six straight games, four of which were Memphis victories, and he was incredible from the field with a 15-of-27 shooting clip in what has been one of the most fun stretches of basketball of the season. The Grizzlies are currently third place in the Western Conference and have exceeded the expectations of even the most optimistic, and Morant is cruising along to third-round fantasy value and can only get better from here.
Philadelphia 76ers DFS Notes
Joel Embiid kept it going in Saturday’s 103-101 win over the Kings, scoring a team-high 36 points (10-of-18 FGs) and also chipping in 12 rebounds, six assists, one block, two 3-pointers and four turnovers in 35 minutes. Embiid made just a single field goal through the first half of action, but drained six shots in the third period to get his percentage back up, and he lived at the line yet again as he went 14-of-18 on free throws. He only tallied one block and didn’t record a steal, but who cares when he’s always good in those areas and he also gets you 30-point nights nearly every time he plays. He’s been unbelievable this season and more importantly he’s been healthy, and if he keeps it up, the big man will post first-round value on both a per-game basis and in terms of total value. He’s right up there with Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry in one of the more exciting MVP races in recent years.
