Pistons drop two to Indy
The Pistons suffered back-to-back losses to Indiana this week, failing to cover the spread in either game. Detroit is 39-39 on the season, 14-25 on the road, 40-35-3 against the spread and 40-38 with the under. The Pistons currently sit sixth in the East, ½ a game over Brooklyn and Orlando.
Detroit is giving up just 107.6 points per game on defense while opponents shoot 47 percent against them. Offensively, the Pistons are averaging 107.2 points per game while shooting only 44.1 percent as a team. Blake Griffin has missed the last three games due to a knee injury and is questionable to play tonight. He averages 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. Andre Drummond is adding 17.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per contest.
OKC gets needed win
Oklahoma City has been struggling as of late, but the Thunder are coming off a 119-103 win over the Lakers are home on Tuesday. OKC is 45-33 on the year, 25-14 at home, 39-39 against the spread and 40-37-1 with the under. They are currently seventh in the West right now, ½ a game over the Spurs in eighth and 1.5 games behind the Clippers in sixth.
The Thunder are putting up 114 points per game this season while shooting 45.3 percent as a team. Defensively, OKC is giving up 110.8 points per game while opponents shoot 46 percent against them. Paul George is averaging 28 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season while Russell Westbrook is adding 23 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game.
NBA Betting Trends
The Pistons are 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven against Western Conference opponents and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games.
The Thunder are 1-7 ATS in their last eight following a win and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games.
These two haven’t played since December, which was a dominant 110-83 win for the Thunder. OKC hasn’t looked very good in recent weeks, but the Pistons are clearly not the same team without Griffin. OKC is a team that has been able to give Drummond a lot of problems as well. If Griffin doesn’t play, I think this game will get ugly. If he does play, I am still not sure if Detroit has what it takes. They haven’t been a steady road team all season.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -8.5
