Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Nuggets are the clear road favorite, as Denver is getting odds of -8 points against the Pelicans. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 227 points. The public betting for this game currently has 76 percent going on Denver on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Nuggets on a win streak
Denver is on a 3-game win streak right now following a 95-92 win at Memphis on Monday. However, the Nuggets were down big early and failed to cover in the win. Denver is now 34-15 on the season, 12-11 on the road, 27-22 against the spread and 24-24-1 with the over/under total.
The Nuggets are one of the stronger defensive teams in the NBA, allowing 105.9 points per game while limiting opponents to 33.9 percent shooting from the arc. Offensively, Denver is putting up 111.6 points per game while shooting 47 percent. Jamal Murray is going to be out tonight with an ankle injury. Murray is second on the team in scoring at 18.5 points per game. Nikola Jokic leads the squad with 20.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists per contest.
Pelicans shock Houston
New Orleans picked up a surprising road win last night with a 121-116 victory at Houston as a 13.5-point underdog. The Pelicans are now 23-28 overall, 15-8 at home, 23-27-1 against the spread and 28-23 with the over.
The Pelicans have been one of the top offensive teams in the league this season, averaging 116.7 points per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field. Defensively, New Orleans is giving up 115.1 points per game while opponents shoot 46.2 percent against them. Anthony Davis and Nikola Mirotic continue to be out with injuries while Julius Randle, Elfrid Payton and E’Twaun Moore are all questionable. Jrue Holiday is leading the team with 21.1 points and 8.1 assists per game while Jahlil Okafor has filled in nicely for Davis. Okafor is averaging 21.2 points and 11 rebounds over his last five games.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are just 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 road games and 7-20 ATS in their last 27 division games.
New Orleans
New Orleans is 1-4 ATS in their last five games on no rest and 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 following a win.
Prediction:
Denver has been a rough team to rely on when playing on the road. The Nuggets looked awful at Memphis and only won because the Grizzlies seemingly handed the game away. New Orleans is coming off an impressive performance last night at Houston and that was without many of the injured players as well. If Okafor can continue to play well, I like the Pelicans to cover this spread at home and possibly take the game outright.
