Public Betting Trends
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Nuggets are the slight favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -2 points against the Pistons. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 216 points. The public betting currently has 95 percent going on Denver as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Nuggets impress in Milwaukee
Denver is coming off a 127-115 win at Milwaukee on Friday night for a fourth win in five games. The Nuggets have covered in all four wins. Denver is now 34-15 on the season, 15-9 on the road, 22-23-4 against the spread and 28-21 with the under.
The Nuggets are a strong defensive team, allowing just 106.1 points per game while holding opponents to 45.6 percent shooting. Offensively, Denver is averaging 109.5 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field. The Nuggets will have Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap, Mason Plumlee and Michael Porter Jr. all out for this game due to injury. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 19.9 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. Will Barton is adding 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest.
Pistons not competitive
Detroit has lost five straight games coming into today, including a 105-92 loss at home to Toronto on Saturday. All five losses have been by double digits. Detroit is 17-33 on the season, 9-17 at home, 17-32-1 against the spread and 31-19 with the over.
The Pistons are putting up 109 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. Defensively, Detroit is allowing 111.4 points per game while opponents shoot 47.6 percent from the floor. Luke Kennard and Blake Griffin remain out for Detroit due to knee injuries. Griffin will miss the rest of the season. Derrick Rose has been leading the team with 18.9 points and 5.9 assists per game while Andre Drummond is adding 17.2 points and 15.7 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games playing on 1 day of rest, but just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a win.
Detroit
The Pistons are 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a loss.
Prediction:
The Nuggets have been a little shaky on the road, but they showed a lot in the win against the Bucks on Friday. Also, Detroit seems to be in full tank mode. It should be a busy trade deadline for the Pistons and they are lacking in a lot of motivation on the court right now. They have lost five straight by double figures, and that includes two games with the Nets and a game with the Cavs. I don’t see them being competitive against a strong defensive team like Denver.
NBA Prediction: Denver Nuggets -2
