Kawhi Leonard said after Wednesday’s win over the Warriors that he’s ready to play in more back-to-backs. Prior to Wednesday, Leonard had not played in both games of a back-to-back since the 2016-17 season. While he did turn the ball over seven times against the Warriors, the fact that he was able to take on his usual workload is a positive. And this bodes well for his availability for the Clippers’ next back-to-back (January 28-29). “I mean, I think I’ll be playing, pretty much,” Leonard said of his availability in future back-to-backs according to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. “The last few years, I was injured, and I worked on getting my leg stronger, and it’s been a long time. But I was patient, and I’m able to play.”

Stephen Curry (ankle) has been downgraded from probable to questionable for Friday vs. the Clippers. This is a surprise after Curry made it through a partial practice on Thursday. Coach Steve Kerr downplayed the injury as well, but the Warriors will be cautious here and see how he feels after warmups. He’s trending towards a game-time call. If Curry can’t go, more usage will flow through Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and Kelly Oubre, and the Warriors will likely give Brad Wanamaker and Damion Lee extended run.
