Cavs upset Pacers
Cleveland picked up a big 92-91 win at Indiana last night to stop the Pacers win streak. The Cavaliers are 8-23 overall, 3-11 on the road, 15-16 against the spread and 17-14 with the under.
The Cavs are averaging just 103 points per game on offense this season while shooting only 44.4 percent from the floor. Defensively, Cleveland is giving up 111.2 points per game while opponents shoot 48.2 percent from the field. The Cavs are without a lot of big, as Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson and John Henson are all out with injuries right now. Jordan Clarkson is leading the team right now with 16.7 points per game while rookie Collin Sexton is adding 15.2 points per contest.
Hornets look at avoid third straight loss
The Hornets have lost two straight at home to the Knicks and Lakers, suffering a 128-100 loss to Los Angeles last Saturday. Charlotte is 14-15 on the season, 10-7 at home, 16-13 against the spread and 16-13 with the over.
Charlotte is putting up 113.8 points per game on offense this season while giving up 111.8 points per game. They have struggled with rebounding, ranking 22nd in the league at pulling them down and 26th at giving them up. Kemba Walker is leading Charlotte this season with 24.9 points and 6.3 assists per game while Jeremy Lamb is adding 15.0 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Cavs are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine when playing on no rest, but 0-4 ATS in their last four following a win.
Charlotte
The Hornets are 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall.
Prediction:
The Hornets haven’t been in their best streak as of late. They did have a brief 3-game win streak last week, but even those wins were within 12 points or less. The Hornets aren’t a team that have been blowing people out of the water this season. While Cleveland is beat up in the frontcourt, the Hornets aren’t a team that can really capitalize on that. The Cavs have handled back-to-backs pretty well this season as well, so I will take them with the points.
NBA Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers +12.5
